Thanks
to the exceptional generosity of The Dorchester and
party guests, the sensational amount of £140,000
was raised on 7th June at the joint birthday celebrations
of David and this luxurious London hotel which will
now go to support DSWF's vital projects in the field.
The Dorchester's General Manager,
Christopher Cowdray, had very kindly offered to mark
the occasion of the joint 75th birthdays by offering
a champagne reception and black tie dinner to David
and the Foundation. Hundreds of friends and supporters,
including Robert Lindsay, David Gower and Sandi Toksvig
attended the glittering event to sample some of the
hotel's legendary hospitality and to raise much needed
funds for wildlife through a very special auction. Presented
with a huge birthday cake, David was toasted by his
youngest grand-daughter, Annabel, and by DSWF's Patron,
HRH Prince Michael of Kent who also paid tribute to
The Dorchester.
DSWF would like to thank Christopher
Cowdray and his wonderful staff who made the evening
so special, and all those who attended, kindly contributing
towards such an outstandingly successful evening.
