Phoenix's new family

Phoenix's new family

Phoenix, the orphaned elephant cared for by DSWF since she was just a few days old, is enjoying her new surroundings at the newly established wildlife orphanage in Zambia - sponsored by the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation. Phoenix has never had any contact with other elephants before and she is finding it hard to adapt. But she now has a little help from new friends.

Three more baby elephants, victims of illegal poaching in Zambia, have been relocated to the orphanage. Zamma, Chodoba and Chamilandu have joined Phoenix to take their first steps back to freedom too.

For more information about Phoenix, Zamma, Chodoba and Chamilandu and to support our work at the wildlife orphanage click here ...
