Another orphan elephant rescued in Zambia
14th November 2011Days after the rescue of little Musolole the Elephant Orphanage Project team was called out to Livingstone to help with another orphaned calf.
A small elephant had been seen wandering along the banks of the Maramba River for a few days and, by day seven, it was apparent that the calf had been isolated from his herd and was starting to lose condition. With the support of volunteers and ZAWA the young bull was rescued and taken to Lusaka where he joined Kavalamanja and Musolole who are being kept there before their translocation to the Kafue Park Release facility.
With so many suckling calves, the team need your support more than ever. If you can support their work please do by donating here.
