30th January 2012It's always good to know that young artists can make money from their work and this story - from the Diss Express - was great to see. A young artist, who had her work exhibited at our Global Canvas children's art competition for three years on the trot is now selling her work. Well done Charlotte!

A 20-YEAR-OLD artist from south Norfolk has found she is so good at her hobby that people are now paying for her talents.
Charlotte Manley, of Garboldisham , specializes in animal paintings and portraits, and has painted two pieces for paying customers in the last month.
Miss Manley, who studied art at both GCSE and A Level, had her work displayed for three consecutive years at the London Natural History Museum as part of the David Shepherd wildlife foundation art exhibition, and uses acrylic paint and oil pastels to create bright, bold pieces.
“It’s quite relaxing, I can let my emotions out and it’s a productive thing to do in my spare time,” said Miss Manley. “I’m doing it more for the fun, not because I’m focused on earning loads of money, it’s just a hobby.
“I’m open to all sorts of ideas and requests and I can do them on any material or any size.”
Miss Manley, who hopes to become a nurse, said she is a bit of a perfectionist and likes to give her paintings emotion and character.
Her most recent paintings include close-up facial images of a polar bear, African cheetah and Siberian tiger.
