Wildlife Crime - REPORT IT!
1st August 2012We need your help to stop the illegal trade in endangered species in London.
If you see anything that appears to be made from an endangered species on sale, please report it to the Metropolitan Police Wildlife Crime Unit. This could be a traditional Chinese medicine product or any other item made from an endangered species, but remember, the law controls trade, not possession, so the product has to be on sale or being kept, or advertised for sale.
Please help us to stop the illegal trade in endangered species.
DSWF is part of Operation Charm - a partnership between the Metropolitan Police Wildlife Crime Unit, the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation , the International Fund for Animal Welfare, WildAid , the World Society for the Protection of Animals and WWF-UK. It uses a combination of law enforcement and public awareness education to tackle the illegal trade in endangered species in London.
You can help. Don’t buy, sell, import or export any wildlife products that you suspect may be illegal.
Please report any suspicious activities by visiting www.operationcharm.org or by calling 01483 426111.

Keep your eyes open on holiday and abroad too and do not be tempted to buy anything that you suspect is made from an endangered species. Buying these items simply fuels the trade.
